WOW!  40 years since grduation - does that mean we're getting old?  

Life has been an adventure.  For the past 25 years I've been working at Yakima Valley School (part of DSHS), but often find myself reflecting back to one of my "past lives" as a policeman, paramedic or an airman; I've also spent time as a cook, cab driver, janitor and security guard, but don't think of those days often.  

I have a beautiful 12 year old daughter who continually brings joy to my life.  (I know many of you have grandkids that that age, but I'm still enjoying it the first time around.)  

Let's see - I don't drink wine, I don't play golf and $40 sounds like an expensive meal.  That's only $1 a year.  It's worth it to see everyone again, especially since I've only been able to make it to one of the previous reunions.  And the reunion coincides (almost to the day) two years since my wife of 25 years suddenly decided to leave.  Maybe I can rekindle an old high school romance (Oh yeh; I don't think I had any).

My husband, Stanley, and I have been married for 27 years and between us have 4 successful children...3 girls and 1 boy. We have 6 wonderful grandchildren from teen to two.
Two years ago we quit our jobs, sold everything,  and took off down the road, leaving Seattle behind. We got as far as Shady Pines in Conconully, WA (Okanagon County near the Canadian border) where we had vacationed for many years. After a month we decided to buy a cabin in this tiny town of abuot 90-100 full-timers. It is a sportsman's community with fishing, hunting, ATVs and snowmobiling. We fish and I enjoy quilting, sewing, selling jewelry and working part-time. We are active in Christian functions and church and with our many old and new friends. We are truly blessed. We love to have company, so if any of you have heard of this place and frequent it, give us a call or shoot us an email.

My wife Lorraine and I have been in the ministry for about 16 years now.  We have been married for over 35 years. We have two great daughters April and Heather.  We also have 6 grandkids. April has 2 girls and Heather has 2 girls and 2 boys.

Lorraine and I travel around the world and bring the gospel to the 3rd world countries.  We recently returned from the Philippines where we had a very successful trip.

In the times that I am not out ministering, I work as the Shelter Director for the Bread of Life Mission in Seattle.  I work with the homeless and with drug and alcohol addicts.

I have lived in Yakima the entire 40 years since graduation.  I have four awesome kids, ranging in age from 40 down to 25.  I have nine terrific grandkids and one terrific great-granddaughter.  I worked for 26 years in the public sector, both for the City of Yakima and Yakima County.  After retiring from the public sector, I now work as a Unit Secretary at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center.  I was married for 21 years and have been single since 1993.  My greatest satisfaction in life is my relationship with the Lord and I value this relationship a great deal.  I guess I haven't strayed too far from Yakima, but I do still like it here.  My only change would be possibly going south during the coldest winter months.  :)

If you don't remember me or can't locate me in your senior Reveille, it is probably because I was pregnant during my senior year and as you recall, at that time you didn't continue to attend classes if you were pregnant,  However, I completed my high school education taking classes at YVC and due to Mrs. Ethridge's efforts, I received my Eisenhower Class of 1968 diploma.  I just didn''t walk with the class.  So I graduated in June 1968 with a diploma and a 3-month old daughter.  I have no regrets.  She was and is terrific.  I just had to grow up a little sooner than some. :)

Shortly after I graduated from the University of Washington, I married Marty Penhallegon (a 1967 Eisenhower grad); settled in the Seattle area; and began a career in juvenile justice,  addiction counseling and program development.  Marty and I, still married after all these years and living in Kirkland, have two adult children.  Four years ago, we adopted Joey who is now age 15, so I am in throes of parenting another adolescent!   

Currently, I am the Director of Substance Abuse Services at a youth and family counseling agency in East King County.  Add the parenting joys and challenges; a  household that includes three cats and two dogs; busy jobs; an active church life and staying involved in the lives of our adult children, and life since high school has been wonderfully fun, fulfilling and at all times interesting.

I have worked at Southern Illinois University for nearly 30 years now, first as a professor and now as Chief Psychologist at the Counseling Center. Married to Dan Holly, another psychologist, for 26 years.  We have one son, now 21. I visited Yakima frequently for a while because my grandmother had Alzheimers, but have not been back for several years.  I miss the Northwest and we vacation in Vancouver, BC as often as we can.
